Wedding
receptions typically serve beer and wine - here are some
new ideas for sprucing up the drink selections:
|
|
|
|
-
If
you are a wine lover, and the family is too, spend some time
collecting bottles of wine that you and your family members
enjoy and share them with your guests. Serve
these by the glass at the reception or have a wine bar. At the wine bar, you can place notes explaining the
significance of each bottle.
-
On an
elegant card, framed at all of the bar stations throughout the
reception, put the bride and groom's favorite cocktail with
the ingredients. Encourage
your guests to try something new!
You may also include your family's favorite drink
choices.
-
For
winter weddings, feature hot chocolate drinks after the cake
is served.
-
Have
a champagne bar, serving your choices throughout the evening.
-
Have
a desert bar with after-dinner cordials!
Feature an all chocolate desert theme or combo themes
such as grappa and bisoctti's.
-
Sushi
bars are emerging into the next decade - try this Asian twist.
-
Before
the reception begins, dish out hors d'oeuvres with martini's
and manhattans circling the cocktail hour.
-
If
you have children at the reception (and quite a few of them)
try having a kids-treat bar, featuring children's cocktails,
special cookies, ice cream, etc.
Give the children their own special favor as well!
